Love the skin you're in

I was recently featured on Moms Fighting Fat as Ms. Sandy did a podcast interview on women who are confident being a plus size woman. I am still honored and overwhelmed. You have to go there to listen to the interview but I was so itching to tell her more that time did not allow. This is for all the women who are struggling with a few more pounds here or there, or even if you are unhappy about something, then this blog is for you.

First and foremost, you've got to love the skin you're in. It may not be what you want, but I say work with what you got, girlfriend. Yes, I watch my weight....every morning when I get dressed and look in the mirror, I say, "girl you are gorgeous." Sometimes we've got to do something for ourselves to make us feel good about ourselves. Go and buy yourself something special...just for you...nothing for the kids, nothing for the hubby, just you without feeling any guilt. It doesn't have to cost a lot but if you spend more than what you can afford, I can't take in anybody to come and live with me. Even if you buy you a cheap pair of ear-rings from the dollar store, put on a little make up, get on some sexy jeans and tell yourself that you are fantabulous. Oh that means you are fantastic and fabulous all in one.

Get rid of the baggy pants and get yourself something nice...but remember, I can't take in any borders if you spend your mortgage payment. Live your life like it's golden. Make yourself hot! Put on some stilettos and tell your hubby or boyfriend that you are his dinner tonight. OH MY! Make yourself feel good about you.

I've been confident in the skin that I am in because it's like dating a guy you like, but the guy you really like doesn't even know you exist; so in that case you are going to settle for what you have until you can get what you want. OH SNAP. That sounds mischievous. Believe it or not, there are men who are just as insecure as a lot of women but if you are looking for a man to love you...then you've got to love you. Love every inch of weight you have because you are wonderfully and fearfully made. When you were made, there was careful planning in your creation and God looked at everything and said that it was good. You are beautiful, so you've got to love the skin you're in before anybody else can love it the way you want it to be loved.

The old saying used to be that the bigger the berry, the sweeter the juice...yeah, yeah, yeah...my new saying is that the bigger the berry, the more juice you can get...and you can take that in whatever way your mind wants to travel.

  1. CONGRATS!

Looking in the mirror and telling yourself you are gorgeous is the best motivator. I always do that.

    Confidence is sexxy.

  2. I listened to the podcast and thought it was great!

I've spent years going up and down (and up. . .and down. . .and up. . .and down) with my weight. But even when I was heavier, I did my best to work with what I had. I knew that my daughters were watching - that helped keep me from being too down on myself.

I agree with Jenelly, Confidence is very sexy!
